Samford Valley - the home of the Powerful Owl

An initiative of the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS), the Samford First Responders Group (SFRG) was started in October 2002 and, following extensive formal and on-the job training with the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS),  commenced live operation in February 2003.

Facilitated and supported by the QAS, SFRG are a group of unpaid volunteers providing first response to medical emergencies in the Samford and surrounding areas (including Samford Village, Samford Valley, Ferny Grove, Highvale, Wights Mountain, Camp Mountain, Mt Glorious/Dundas, Mt Nebo, Jollys Lookout, Yugar, Draper, Closeburn, Cedar Creek, Mt Samson and bits of the Samsonvale and Bunya areas.)

Samford ("the home of the Powerful Owl") and the surrounding areas are a community located approximately 25Km North West of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. We have an expanding population of more than 10,000 people covering over 100 square kilometres.
